Reflexion Alerts
Create personal agents to monitor dynamic data feeds - in this demo,
watch the Usenet for words, phrases or numbers in contexts which you
define, and have matches delivered to you in real time or periodically.
Background
We took the largest publicly available feed - 300,000 Usenet postings
a day - and are running it through the Reflexion Engine on one
mid-range PC for thousands of end-users - in real-time. The service was
99.98% available for over a year, and required negligible maintenance.
Important note --- Demos are live!

Reflexion Extraction
Reflexion can transform feeds by extracting precise parts of the data stream.
In this demo, Reflexion extracts information hidden in raw Usenet postings
that advertise autos for sale. Reflexion was programmed to ...
- Identify appropriate postings.
- Extract make, model, price, mileage and year, as well as location,
phone number and email of the seller.
- Form a corresponding set of structured records and insert them
into a database.
You can view and search
extracted information in an orderly database format rather than search for
it in an unstructured feed of raw postings. Reflexion considers these
newly-structured records as yet another feed, enabling you to create a profile
to watch it and be alerted the instant your desired car becomes available.
