Streamlogic Alerts powers Randori Usenet News Targeting
LOS ALTOS HILLS, CA, 25 February 2002 - Streamlogic, Inc., the leading
provider of dynamic data management solutions, today announced that Randori
News has implemented Streamlogic Alerts to help the Usenet provider better
serve its growing customer base. Randori News will begin using Streamlogic
Alerts to enable customers of its Usenet service to receive highly targeted
alerts when a discussion of interest has begun. Users of the Randori service
can now specify which types of postings from over 26,000 distinct newsgroups
they would like to see. Alerts then delivers these relevant postings to users
in real-time, or at regular intervals via e-mail or other online delivery
mechanism.
Streamlogic Alerts allows users to determine exactly which information
they want to receive from live data feeds and delivers this content in real
time from within news stories, stock quotes, auction listings, discussion
groups, or other live feeds of information. Streamlogic Alerts highlights,
tags, clips, and delivers targeted information direct to users via wireless
device, email, personalized web page or any other online device.
The integration of Streamlogic Alerts into our offerings will allow
our users an unsurpassed level of control over the information they see
and the discussions in which they participate," said Diane Gross, President
of Randori News. "We are very impressed with the scale and precision of
Streamlogic's solution and are looking forward to providing this valuable
service to our customers."
Alerts enables users to define rules (profiles) that are instantaneously
matched against patterns in live data streams, delivering on the promise of
real-time information flow and optimal targeting. Streamlogic Alerts runs
on Streamlogic's breakthrough data feed management engine, the massively
scalable Reflexion, which can easily process and distribute information from
the 26,000 newsgroups managed by Randori News with a single CPU computer.
"Alerts is a powerful solution for individuals who want highly specific
control over the information they receive," said Streamlogic co-founder Val
Jerdes. "For our customers, this solution breaks the scalability bottleneck
- processing extremely high volumes of information against millions of user
profiles. We are excited to be Randori News' preferred solution provider and
we are certain that our solution will help them develop stronger relationships
with their customers."
